Ronaldo, the sex machine...

A former girlfriend of the Brazilian says he has the passion of six gorillas as a lover - whatever that means.

Beauty queen Fabiola Francois went out with him for a year - and is preparing to write a steamy book about her sizzling relationship with the Samba star.

'Ronaldo was a sex machine,' the 22-year-old said.

'He wanted me all the time - he had the passion of six gorillas rolled into one.

'He invited me to spend a season with him in Madrid. Afterwards I returned to Brazil and we continued our romance from afar, but the distance cooled our ardour.

Ronaldo's legal team are now poring over early transcripts of the book entitled 'The Phenomenon - An Ordinary Guy'.

ARSENAL captain Thierry Henry is to be offered a world record 200,000-a-week ($580,000) deal from Chelsea - which he will turn down out of respect for the Gunners.

Henry - who is stalling on talks to extend his contract at Highbury - will say no to the amazing deal from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho because he refuses to move to any of Arsenal's Premiership rivals. If he does leave, he would go abroad to join Barcelona or Real Madrid.

That will dent the ambitions of Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich, who has coveted Henry ever since he bought Chelsea in the summer of 2003.

The Russian billionaire tried to buy Henry at the time but his 50 million approach was rejected out of hand by Arsenal.

But there is some good news for the Premiership's runaway leaders - they will finally get the chance to sign manager Mourinho's former playmaker at Porto - Brazilian-born Deco.

The 28-year-old midfielder, valued at 12m, is unsettled at Barcelona and would jump at the chance of linking up again with Mourinho - possibly as early as the January transfer window.

Mourinho and Deco have remained close since their time at Porto and also have the same agent, Jorge Mendes.

MOZAMBIQUE are preparing to break the bank to make Sir Alex Ferguson's assistant their national boss.

Manchester United's assistant manager Carlos Queiroz was born in the East African country - and now they want him to head up their preparations for the 2008 African Nations Cup.

Sports minister David Simango said: 'Carlos Queiroz is somebody we would welcome as our national coach. Recruiting a manager of his calibre will require massive funding.

'But Queiroz is a coach with international pedigree, high-level experience and undoubted ability.

'He is a local boy made good, and renowned across the world.

Queiroz was boss at Real Madrid two seasons ago before joining United - but he has been getting a lot of flak recently for the cautious way that Manchester United have been playing.

The criticism has been mounting so steadily that Ferguson felt compelled to come out and insist that he is still the boss at Old Trafford.

He said: 'Certainly I rely on Carlos a lot. He is a very capable man and brings his experience abroad to bear in order to widen our horizons.

'After all, we have a global playing squad and this breadth is reflected these days with our staff.

'As for me allowing him too much influence, he has no more authority than any of our previous coaches - like, say, Steve McClaren.

'But he is allowed to get on with his own job and we do work closely together.

'He knows the theme and gets on with it without constant interference.

'I'm there at training, but Carlos is at the sharp end.

BARCELONA ace Ronaldinho has temptingly admitted that he would love to play in English football - and that will put Chelsea on high alert.

Ronaldinho, World Player of the Year, is one of Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho's top targets - but up until now, there seems to have been no hope of luring him away from Barcelona.

Ronaldinho almost joined Manchester United from French club PSG two years ago - but he felt at the time that Barcelona was as close to living in Brazil as it could get in Europe.

He added: 'Manchester United are one of the best clubs in the world and they have got a lot of quality, but I thought I would be happier playing in Barcelona.

'Even though my brother negotiated the deal, it wasn't an easy decision to make but it was my decision. I felt that Barcelona would be better for my family because the weather and the language are similar to Brazil.

You will all remember Ronaldinho as the architect of England's downfall at the last World Cup with his audacious lob over David Seaman.

But now Ronaldinho is predicting that England will be one of the danger sides at the World Cup Finals next summer.

'England are always one of the strongest teams at the World Cup,' he said.
